Sangoma Technologies is sponsoring Linux Journals Search for the Ultimate Linux Geek promotion with their over 1,000 Linux Users groups in 97 countries worldwide. It is an effort to unite the Linux community and to demonstrate Sangomas commitment to the open source technologies. Perhaps, you may have the Ultimate Linux Geek working at your firm. And if that person is a member of a local Linux user Group (LUG) and is part of the Linux Journals GLUE network (Groups of Linux Users Everywhere) they can enter this on-line tournament to determine who is the Ultimate Linux Geek. The crowned Champion will win a Cruise for Two on Linux Lunacy to Alaska this September 13-20, 2003. There you will be able to mingle with some Linux Royalty, Linus Torvald and others. The first round of the contest will take place on July 28, 2003. 30 questions must be answered fast, so youll need to do some research to be prepared. The fastest 100 correctly answered entries will be eligible for the finals. The Finals will take place on August 15, 2003 to determine the final winner. Once again 30 different questions must be answered. The fastest correct entry will be crowned The Ultimate Linux Geek. All questions will be posted on the website of our sponsor: Sangoma Technologies Corp. Please inform all your colleagues about this on-line tournament, it is FREE for all GLUE members to enter. Post 'em at midnight PDT and let the EDT folks cope with a 3am start time...

Why ''two'', you don't expect the Ultimate Geek to have a girlfriend do you, or is the other place for his PC ?

          Cruise for Two ???

Not only would the ULTIMATE Linux geek not have a girlfriend, but he Cruise for Two ???

wouldn't even want to go on a cruise; the net connectivity wouldn't be
good enough, and he'd have to talk to people in person.

No self-respecting ultra-geek would even think about being awake at 7am (contest time for US/Pacific folks), unless they'd been awake all night long. (And in that case, of course, they're hardly going to be at their best for a timed contest.)7am??
