That's good and it's early enough to be useful to applications. Hopefully
the implementation will be 'tasteful' enough so that it's actually used.
Too often there's duplication, rather than code sharing, which tends to
lead to lots of reasonable implementations with various pro's and con's
but no real outstanding one.
