Given the (recurring) comment from David Parnas, shouldn't it be possible for LWN.net to exists also as an actual linux design documentation; and thus get the additional funding it deserves (IMHO) for contributing to that critical piece of the whole thing?
Note also that this website also operates, in my view, as some kind of "knowledge management" site for Linux; something which may go further than a simple web-based newsletter... (Short idea - I may add a longer comment to the front page article related to your subscription rate announcement, if I find the time.)
