The mozdev site
was taken down by a distributed denial of service last week.
The site is now
back online and is mostly functional. Mozdev is now running on
new server hardware.

I saw a lot of comments on mozillazine wondering why mozdev was attacked. I think the answer is simple - it was easily attackable. The admin of the site admitted that it was running a very old OS. It is kind of a survival of the fittest. Think about a pack of hyenas looking over a herd of gazelles. Do they pick the one that pissed them off last week, or do they go for the weakest. (Yes, I am comparing script kiddies to a pack of dogs.)
