package format superiority

While I hope not to provoke a thread that distracts from your interesting points, I will say that each of .deb and .rpm file formats has technical features that the other lacks, and I believe each could reasonably be considered better than the other on technical grounds alone.

Anyone wishing to discuss this further, I suggest/request that you put your points somewhere useful such as in Wikipedia, and simply post a link to it so that any further discussion can take place there.
