It would be interesting to know how many developers use Subversion only through "git svn". Who besides corporate suits still need the "security theater" that centralized-only VCS offer? Behind the curtains everyone is longing for a more flexible and faster VCS, at least that is my observation.

Unless you version (large) files which are hard or impossible to merge.
Like, say, all gamedev/CGI companies do?

Haven't had any problem with git in media-heavy game development, thank you.

Essentially two groups: bad developers and ignorant developers. There is a large intersection there, but also two big disjoint groups.
