Kernel release status
The current development kernel is 2.6.34-rc2, released (without
announcement) on March 20. A lot of changes went in since
the -rc1 release; see the
short-form changelog for an overview, or see the
full changelog for all the details.

Big Kernel Lock? Perhaps also worth mentioning the latest round of Big Kernel Lock elimination patches? Or is that net time? :)
