Good topic! It's the first presentation I've heard about building a non-infringement defence.

Are there any mirrors available? I can only download at like 5-8 kB/s from that place! Geeze

Ha! For once the rest of the world is at the wrong end of a severely band-limited international link! I got really good download speed of the videos here in NZ. Best you avoid trying to download Friday night NZ time; the internet grinds to a near standstill during that time ;-)

Thanks! Could you update your mime types list to serve .ogv as video/ogg? That's necessary for HTML5 embedding to work.

Ummm, does *anyone* from the original content providers (i.e. *.nz) have checksums or could perhaps provide an rsync service to resync the few broken blocks, please? I have no idea whether any files are corrupt after this 2-day paralympic download marathon.

Each page has links to ogg videos.Should not be a big deal for non-flash users.

Interesting. There were Ogg versions up earlier this week, but they seem to have been taken off the R2.co.nz site. The audio only .ogg files will just play in your browser if you have a recent Firefox or Chromium, but they used '.ogm' as the extension on the Theora files instead of .ogv or .ogg, so they don't get a recognized mime type. Supposedly they're fixing this.
Normally I mirror the Ogg versions on a US server for them, but there's no CC license attached this year so I haven't copied them across.
