This release comes with the mandatory Oracle DB ;-) ? No thanks. I am
waiting still that the developers toss the mandatory MySQL backend
introduced in 2.0. Unless one has terabytes of songs sqlite should be
good enough.

You'll be waiting a long time, then.
What difference does it make to you whether they use SQLite or *embedded* MySQL? The functionality is identical from the user's point of view. (There is no need to set up a MySQL server for embedded databases, as used by Amarok by default. They are stored as regular files under $HOME/.kde/share/apps/amarok/, just like the old SQLite databases.)

Terrabytes is definately wrong - 3-4 gig should do. The performance
difference with over 3.000 songs between sql lite and mysql was for me very
noticable.
