To be fair, all the good colors are already taken.

I think it's good they use different colors. You can recognize a
distribution on thumbnailed screenshots like this:

Red: Red Hat
Green: SuSE
Blue: Fedora
Ripped off Mac OS X interface with l33t fonts collected all over the
internet: Ubuntu
