What is impossible to satisfy is illogical explanations about why things that were known to be security problems never got disclosed as such. The latest obfuscation by Linus is a clear case in point. The announcement of the .8 release is another.
If something as implemented is nonsense, expect questions. Waving a magic wand in the hope that these questions will vanish won't work. Neither will same illogical explanations.
