Torvalds Speaks Out on SCO, Linux (eWeek)

eWeek interviews Linus Torvalds. "Linus Torvalds, the founder and lead developer of the Linux open-source operating system, has some strong views about the legal dispute between The SCO Group and IBM, which he shared with eWEEK Senior Editor Peter Galli in an e-mail exchange last week. Torvalds also last week announced he was taking a leave of absence from Transmeta Corp. and becoming the first full-time fellow at the Open Source Development Lab, where he will continue to drive the next version of the Linux kernel, 2.6, due later this summer." Funny how there's nothing about SCO in there, and the link they offer doesn't seem to actually link to any content...

Oh, never mind. There's a tiny 'Next Page' button at the bottom of the interview. :)

That's what I get for reading tired.

Even better: click on 'Printer-friendly version'. On most websites, including that one, I find the printer-friendly version also more reader-friendly.

Seconded! Someone should write a browser engine mod that automatically scrapes the screen for a "printer-friendly" link and redirects to it. It could be a check box just like "load images" or "enable javascript".

Should be fairly easy with Links and LUA, but I'm not going to be the one do it. (:

Linux wasn't _always_ GPL'ed, but Linus' original "homemade" license was apparently more restrictive than the GPL. For those who're a bit younger than me (groan), check out:

Read the question beginning "When and why did you decide to place Linux under GPL?"
