Samba with Active Directory: getting closer
I wonder whether this additon of features will finally bring us a make menuconfig target allowing users to selectively compile the features that interest them.
I for one would be entirely happy running a modern Samba-daemon on my home file server with 32MB RAM. Alas, I have not been able to tune config.h in such a way to make samba run peacefully alongside a webserver, ssh-server and assorted other programs on this hardware because it sucks up more than it's share of memory. So I'm stuck with samba 3.0.24 heavy-handedly patched beyond recognition to fit within a RSS of about 1MB.
I'm slightly worried that the addition of the AD-server code would make running samba on such hardware even more difficult.
