I was specifically refuting the accusation that lack of H.264 is an "antifeature". I was at Benjamin Mako Hill's LCA talk last week, and he defined it as a restriction of capability which takes additional work to implement. Therefore, lack of support for DirectShow or Quicktime codecs is not an antifeature, since it's easier to not support them than to support them.
