"My presentation of "Ten Ways to Destroy Your Community" on Monday, and even more so LWN's coverage of it, made it seem as if it was entirely about Sun Microsystems and their mistakes. This was not my intention; the mistakes in community relations I was talking about are universal to the sphere of corporate open source. Between projects I myself have worked with, and the people who have shared their stories after seeing "Ten Ways", this includes Red Hat, Microsoft, IBM, Cisco, MySQL AB, SugarCRM, SQL-Ledger, Greenplum (I was responsible for that one), Novell, Compiere, Borland, Google, Apple, Zend, and dozens of other startups and large corporations. If Sun is special in this list, they screwed up more times because they open sourced more internal code than any other large corporation."
I'm curious whether this one will make it to the LWN frontpage as well.
