IBM Comment on SCO Press Release

IBM responds to SCO in a short press release. "Since filing a lawsuit against IBM, The SCO Group has made public statements and accusations about IBM's Unix license and about Linux in an apparent attempt to create fear, uncertainty, and doubt among IBM's customers and the open source community."

What happened to all that "David vs. Goliath" stuff about the Linux OS vs. Microsoft?

Not that I believe SCO has much of a chance of succeeding at whatever they're trhing to do (except for possibly Golden Parachutes for all the dorks that are running it now....)

Still, let's see how easy (or hard) this is going to be.

Personally, I think it's about time all the people who worked on Linux for free (instead of for hundreds of millions of dollars) start putting their (figurative) hosters on. These SCO people are scamming us.

What I like best about this story is to see IBM using the term FUD, which was in fact coined to describe their behavior.

But at the moment the forces of profit have turned another way..

Well, I'd like to see some real news for a chance..

I think I'll change the filtering of my mail and stop letting the words SCO and IBM come thrue..

Amusing, and true of that particular term, but certainly that sales practice is as old as mankind.

IANAL, but I don't see how SCO can revoke their contract with IBM when their claims are largely disputed and have not been proven in a court of law. SCO must prove their accusations to prove the contract has been invalidated. Or am I missing something?
