The new snapshots features are a welcome addition. I always missed them compared to VMware Workstation. It facilitate the use of a VM to make testing easier.

Yes; and with live migration, VirtualBox is becoming a serious alternative to VMware Server.

You mean: the "full" version, as opposed to the "free" version.

It's not going to become a competitor to VMware until they split it into a client/server archtecture, and doesn't appear to "hang" until you click Ok to the bloody annoying new version dialog boxes.

VMs can be run without using the VirtualBox frontend and they can be run without the end-user UI so those messages won't come up.

You can also start machines using only an SDL window locally which again facilitates usage where UI dialogs get in the way. Additionally the frontend can be told not to check for updates.

As usual all this information is available in the manual.

Thanks, I'll RTFM next time, but I still think modal dailogs in general are a broken concept.
