I was reading those replies from the Redhat employees and I kept thinking
"are you people all insane?"

It seems that the best solution for now is 'yum erase PackageKit'

How about thinking:

"Gee these guys may have a point, let me try to figure out why they think
they way they do even if they might be wrong ultimately"

Because they actually do have a point and they actually are not wrong about
it.
