I found BusyBox in the image so I sent a letter to gpl@busybox.net. If anyone else is interested, look at:
http://207.38.27.164/firmware/SW/SusanII_v1.6.3.rar Uncompress it, then starting at offset 2601216 in safe-kernel.img1 you'll find a ramdisk image that contains busybox. There's other stuff around too.

Will Samsung be asked nicely before people get out the sledge hammers? Nasty legal letters may not be the best way to engage their community enthusiasm.
