I'm not sure I like elitist language design, though ;} and it was meant to
be *easy* to read ('make declaration like expressions'), it just didn't turn out that way.

There are no useful system software developer certifications. We have to keep out the interlopers somehow. Having to grok C declarations is not really that high a barrier to entry, and if it keeps anyone out, it's probably just as well.
