This is a good point to make. I don't do everything on the desktop, just a lot. As a general rule, the less technical something is and/or the more I am working on it by myself, the more likely it is to be on the desktop. Important desktop files get moved/archived as appropriate. I have a lot of folders on the desktop. It's not a complete soup of file anarchy.
