[MailStripper-Announce] MailStripper Pro 1.0.2 released
Date:
Tue, 10 Jun 2003 01:20:24 +0100 (BST)
Changes since 1.0.0:
# Corrected an obscure error in Base64 handling.
# Recoded socket read code to time out and die after 3 hours. Otherwise hung
sockets will hang around until MailStripper is restarted. (*)
# Updated the SysV init script.
* This means that the scanning process will die after 3 hours of starting.
When a spammer hijacks a dial-up box and it goes offline, the socket is
left dangling waiting for input that will never come. After three hours
these processes will terminate. As each email is scanned in its own
process, the timeout of one will not affect others.
Now available for download at http://www.eridani.co.uk/MailStripper/
All feedback is much appreciated!
