Stable kernels 2.6.27.38 and 2.6.31.5

The 2.6.27.38 and 2.6.31.5 stable kernel updates have been released. The 2.6.27 update is relatively small and focused on SCSI and USB serial devices; the 2.6.31 update, instead, addresses a much wider range of problems.

They haven't fixed the bug I've been bitter about for a long time but never filed a bug report for this time either. :-(

It sounds like bitterness isn't working for you. You should try a sunny disposition! ^_^

Honest bitterness beats phony cheer any day.

Maybe they're not mind readers?

Do you know if ANYONE has filed the bug report? Or was Linus et al supposed to read your mind?

Complaining about someone not fixing a problem you didnt't tell them about reflects more on you than the development community. They have a large number of reported bugs to fix, and then there's the issues they find. If they don't know of a problem, why would they fix it?

Maybe they're not mind readers?

Do we have to specifically mark ironic humour?

Maybe they're not mind readers?

Yes, apparently.

Well, the keyboard-sticks-forever-under-X problem I was seeing was a
really annoying bug I didn't even report (cos I thought it must be X's
fault) until someone else reported it and it turned out to be a TTY
line-discipline SMP bug, fixed in
86d23a057e718f73adc15e463c643d6e014a19cd.

So I didn't report this bug I was bitter about for a week or so and they
still fixed it. :)

Cool

You could have reported it to X.Org—we take bug reports too. Sometimes even for things that are not our fault! ☺  Seriously, we try to be as responsive as we can about this kind of thing; we know how annoying it can be.
