Either 0.94.x or 0.95.x (I can't recall which and the horrible way they
maintain their NEWS file makes it very hard to tell) silently changed clamav-milter to require symbols that aren't present in older versions of sendmail (8.12.x).
In practice I suspect the number of installations affected numbers in the
