(L)GPLv3 is out of the question in all circumstances - it scares the phone industry so much

While this may look like a disadvantage from the point of view of a proprietary vendor such as Google, to me as a free software developer the message is quite the opposite. This here is a real world confirmation that GPLv3 has more teeth and less loopholes than GPLv2, enough so to be taken seriously by the patent holders and ASPs who have grown used to paying lip service to Free Software, taking advantage of our work while locking their results away behind DRM, web services and unbuildable code drops.

They've stopped ignoring GPLv3 and are now trying to fight it. I say lets push them back, push them into a corner and make them play fair with our toys! My software is already relicensed. Is yours?
