Imaginary markets are all around us: from stock markets to securities to currency exchanges to brands to actual, down-to-Earth patents. All existing only because they are enforced by our governments. If we were to do away with them we would be left with gold, coffee and real estate markets -- and even then most of the raw material that changes hands nowadays is never seen either by the buyer or the seller. Better center on the consequences (perceived and actual) of this particular imaginary market.
