Although it's not free software, Adobe Photoshop Elements is an excellent commercial tool for stitching together photos into a panorama.

That may be so, but isn't it almost completely irrelevant here? Why would this readership care that a proprietary alternative existed to their very good Free Software tool? Does photoshop even run on linux? (Can you tell I've never tried).
