Ingo Molnar has posted the results of a number of benchmark tests comparing the performance of the new BFS scheduler from Con Kolivas against the mainline CFS scheduler. The results include a number of graphs, and a clear conclusion: "Alas, as it can be seen in the graphs, i can not see any BFS performance improvements, on this box." In fact, BFS generally performs worse. Of course, Ingo might be seen as a not-entirely-objective observer; it will be interesting to see what kind of results others might get.
