Just a quick comment that the distro import tool I mentioned in my initial post has now been made available as a Mercurial repository: http://hg.rpath.com/mirrorball and http://bitbucket.org/rpathsync/mirrorball/ (both are published simultaneously). More to come in the way of documentation and example configuration, but this is working code that rPath is using every day to import multiple distributions into a Conary repository. It is available under exactly the same dual-license arrangement as Conary: CPL/proprietary
Anyone who is interested in trying out mirrorball should talk to us on IRC on freenode.net #conary or ask questions on firstname.lastname@example.org. We'll be happy to help you get started. Be aware that this is not a standalone tool; it uses many other rPath tools.
