Sure, Fedora should just fork python or drop it completely (upstream have refused to take multilib seriously). Not to mention what awesome support you'd get off all upstreams for everything in RHEL-5 atm.

You seem to have awesome ideas, do you produce a newsletter I can subscribe to?
