Hi,

The DoD made its first official statement about Open Source and put it on
a level playing with proprietary. Fear was they would ban at least the
GPL, so this is a very big win. The memo is at the Center of Open Source &
Government site [www.egovos.org].

Also, the Center of Open Source & Government has been working on the
CommonCriteria/NIAP evaluation and informing the legal community about the
licenses, so the listed hurdles are not as big as they may first appear.

I concur: this memo suggests that the DoD isn't concerned about the license as long as their other conditions are met, and I find that perfectly reasonable, myself.
