While I do think there is an issue here worth talking about... I think that the the removal is sufficient. People shouldn't be doing security-sensitive things with alpha software anyway. And if they do, well, who's fault is that (I say immediately after checking my bank balance with Epiphany in the latest Ubuntu alpha release).
I suggest that the attention now be refocused upon the number one violator of personal privacy in the OSS world: Mozilla Corp., their Firefox browser, and the tens of millions of dollars per year that they make from selling their users' information to Google.
