My servers are not the typical use case, they are connected to a KVM and are running interactive radar simulations ( X is a requirement for me ).
Perhaps they won't break everything from a code point of view, they are even reusing code. However, they will only be considering a small set of use cases. That will effectively undo all the usability polish that has been built up over the years ( not just in GNOME ), and IMO will take years to redo all over again.
I'll probably have to rework my simulation tools to fit into the new environment, i.e. applets, etc. That is not going to sit well with my employer, who will want to avoid that for as long as possible.

In what way would you have to rework your program?
