Agreed. After all, Alan has been working on the Linux kernel for what, fifteen years? (Maybe longer.) While I often find value in Linus' pearls of wisdom (often told with an acerbic but magisterial tone), I am troubled by how he snubbed Alan this way. I pray and hope that the two of them can work out their differences of opinion as (1) our editor has already pointed out that the TTY code is a harsh beast, and (2) Alan is (was) at least willing to try to tame it.
