Something don't sound quite right. The -stable team once set out to provide stable issues for *two* releases. That would be 2.6.29 and 2.6.30 at the moment. And now, they are stopping the 2.6.29 one already? Hummm!

It's fine with me, I do not mind going back to -stabling just one release — after all, it's a free service. But other users may be going to harrumph harder.

looks to me like latest and 2.6.27 are the two they are supporting.
presumably 2.6.27 is important because it's the basis for RHEL6 & SLES11.
