When I worked for Sourcelabs, we had messages to the staff email alias asking for diggs, when there was a story about the company. The emails were probably innocent in nature, but IMO companies should not do that. IMO they all do. It is a standard feature these days that PR agencies help you with social networking. It's probably the majority of their business for many of them. That means digg, wikipedia, slashdot, etc.
