Version 1.0 of
the Open Database License is now official. This is the license that
the OpenStreetMap project proposes to move to; the
current
plan envisions a vote being held almost right away, followed by a
2-3 month transition.

Calls for Presentations
The
call for papers for
linux.conf.au 2010 is now open. The conference will be held in Wellington, New Zealand, January 18-23, 2010. "
linux.conf.au isn't just a Linux conference. It is a technical
conference about Free and Open Source Software, held annually in
Australasia since 2001 - covering everything from the Linux Kernel and
the BSDs to OpenOffice.org, from networking to audio-visual magic, from
hardware hacks to Creative Commons."

A call for papers has gone out for the
PostgreSQL Conference West 2009.
"
The PostgreSQL Conference U.S. team is pleased to
announce the West 2009 venue and call for papers. This year the premiere
West Coast PostgreSQL Conference will be leaving its roots at Portland
State University and moving north to sunny Seattle, Washington.
The event this year is being held at Seattle Central Community College
from October 16th through 18th."

pyArkansas 2009 is set for Saturday, November 14 and is once again being
hosted by our friends in the Computer Science Department at the University
of Central Arkansas. This year we are planning classes GIS, Image
