Free Software Awards - Trophees du Libre 2009

Hi,

On June 5th and 6th, 2009 the fifth édition of the Trophées du Libre 2009 took place at the IUT de
Cuffies-Soissons. The event was organized by the CETRIL association in partnership with the
European Communinity, the France State, the Picardy region and the Grand Soissons council.

All the 23 finalist projects were awarded in each of the seven categories :
Security, Administration, Education, Professionnel, Multi-media technology, Leasure and Sciences -
plus three special prizes : the jury special prize, the prize for a large potential software usage
and the most innovative project. Pierre Spilleboudt (Audaxis President) was the jury Chairman this
year. The final awards were between 500 Euros and 3000 Euros.

For this international edition, the fifth one - 125 projects were in competition and they were
subscribed from 35 different countries from Europe and fromall around the world as Manu Konchady
d'Inde, Arturo Busleiman d'Argentine et Waseem Daher des USA ....

This competition has two main goals : first of all, to recognize the work from the teams developing
open-source solutions and second to develop the innovation into the Soissons park Gourault. For
this reason, the Grand Soissons council has offered one year of free office space for the winners
who wish to work in France to Soissons.

   2. Coherence : Sharing video content, audio and images between different media
   3. Kinovea : Video analysis and decomposition of movement
   4. SMILE : Slideshow Maker In Linux Environnement

Professional:

   1. GOsa : Administration tool written in PHP and designed to administer accounts and systems in
LDAP tree
   2. Support Incident Tracker : Application which uses PHP and MySQL for tracking technical
support calls / emails.
   3. Projectivity 3.0 : Platform Web 2.0 customizable and accessible anywhere and anytime.  
   4. Tine 2.0 : Software which combines groupware, CRM and ERP in one system
   5. GSQL : Universal tool for developers of databases 

 

Security :

   1. Ksplice : Software for updating the Linux kernel without rebooting
   2. Enigform and mod_openpgp : OpenPGP Secure Session Management
      and Request/Response integrity and client/server identity verification for Firefox and
Apache
   3. Inquisitor : Testing and performance evaluation, compared to hardware & drivers ... 


Administration :

   1. Linea21 : Web application for the Agenda21 local
   2. Tellmatic : Management tool and create newsletters for personalized mailing 


Sciences : 

   1. MathGL : Creating graphics 
   2. Gmsh : Software for automatic 3D mesh.
   3. GRAPHITE : Platform for research in 3D modeling and image synthesis. 


Hobbies :

   1. Pychess : Chess 100% coded in Python
   2. Neverball : Arcade Address & 3D
   3. Djl : Videogames manager for the operating system GNU / Linux 


Education :

   1. Vallect : Swap around the personal reading
   2. OSCAR : Tools to manage a computer room
   3. Emustru : A tutor of English online
