Cross Platform: new versions of Win4Lin and CrossOver Office
I've been a Win4Lin user since their first release (I still have the original CD and case). It's a great product, and despite the fact that it does not support Windows 2000, I continue to use it, upgrade it, and purchase each new version that is released. In fact, it is much faster than VMware/3.2.1, which I use at work and at home, due to it's support for Windows 2000.
My beef (naturally, I've got one, otherwise why bother posting this comment?) is that although they have added support over the years for Middle- and East-European, and Pacific-Rim languages, NeTraverse has yet to add support for right-to-left languages -- Hebrew and Arabic -- spoken/written/read by a hefty chunk of the world's population. Of course I've written to them about this glaring omission!
One might think, in view of the way Gulf War II ended and the rebuilding of Irag, and America's penchant for involvement in things Middle-Eastern, that NeTraverse might just find a way to add that RTL support and enable us to install Hebrew or Arabic localized/enabled versions of Windows 95/98/ME.
I'm still waiting, and will probably purchase version 5.0
