I agree that some of this could turn into navel-gazing, but there seem like some neat ideas in there:

- "allow users to become fans of an application and follow its development." Yes, right now people can manually sign up for a mailing list, but what if it was a single button? You'd have more users reading and posting on the mailing list.

- "hardware dialogs could include links to those with the same hardware." back when I was buying Sony Vaio laptops, I would have killed for this feature. It took a lot of googling to get everything working. (I've since given up on buying things without Linux on them)
