eglibc even starts with the same letters as egcs, and includes *three* of
the same letters.
It is fated.

Debian switching to EGLIBC Posted May 6, 2009 20:57 UTC (Wed) by njs (guest, #40338) [Link] Perhaps more to the point, it appears to involve some of the same people (eglibc development is organized by CodeSourcery; I suspect Mark Mitchell is familiar with gcc's history), and has the same copyright assignment rules.
