Wow, this sounds like something I've been looking for, for quite a while. I spent quite a while looking for something that would allow me to keep my laptop synced with my server. (A little like roaming profiles on windows). This enables me to have the same folders on the desktop and back everything up in once central location.
I'll have to look into iFolder see if it meets my needs, I'll be very happy if it does.

If it doesn't, take a look at Unison.

Two-way synchronization that works like a charm. I keep my laptop data synchronized with our file server's content since years; it just works.
