News.com covers
new desktops from IBM. "The ThinkCentre line will initially consist
of three models: the ThinkCentre S50 small-size machine, the A50p
multimedia computer and the M50 that IBM will ship with desktop versions of
Red Hat or SuSE Linux. More models will be added as the year

IBM will also offer special models in the ThinkCentre M family that are created for Red Hat or SuSe Linux, an option created for larger customers.
Well I'm 6' 4", so I guess I must qualify as a "larger customer", and therefore I should be able to order Linux preinstalled. ;-)
I see that the M50 has an "Intel Extreme Graphics 2" (aka 82865G) graphics chipset. I'm wondering if this is currently supported by XFree86, or if Intel has their own xserver (ie "drivers") that IBM ships with the systems. I didn't see anything newer than the 815 mentioned in the XFree86 docs, but maybe they are just out of date.
Ditto for the "SoundMAX Cadenza" sound chip. I don't keep up on sounds cards much, so maybe this is already supported.
