Parent article: OpenMoko GTA03 cancelled
This sounds like some much needed realism on the part of Openmoko. I
have a FreeRunner, but the buzzing issue prevents me from using it as a
phone. So I broke down and bought an Android Dev Phone. I am still
hopeful that they can deliver on the promise of the GTA02.

I agree that the buzz issue, in 900MHz range, is by far the biggest problem FreeRunner has, though I use it still with tweaked ALSA setting which make the problem a bit smaller when it occurs. The phone becomes a lot more interesting once they get the factory-fixed A7 revision to resellers. Currently I'd recommend anyone considering FreeRunner to wait for it unless you enjoy hardware tweaking: http://people.openmoko.org/joerg/GSM_EMI_noise/big-C_rewo...
For existing customers like me, still waiting for the Big Plan (besides fix parties) for those who do not want to fix hardware themselves.
But when the A7 is on sale, I'd happily recommend FreeRunner to most free software hackers (with some extra time for tweaking:)).
