Linux Magazine presents a video interview with Ted Ts'o. "Ted talks about the improved acceleration of ext4 and the difference between ext4 and BtrFS. And how does one see it if one doesn't have access to Flash, but only,
say, mplayer? It's run via a bunch of JS that accepts what looks like a
Unix path and I really can't be bothered to interpret the thing by hand to
figure out what URL it is...

(sheesh. is a simple link too hard for these guys?)

You can play the movie directly at http://www.linux-magazine.com/var/linux_magazin/storage/o...

Plays fine with mplayer

Yay. 15 minute roundtrip time, not bad, watching the video will take
longer than that :)

I use a firefox plugin called DownloadHelper to deal with the level of obfuscation in video links these days. I think it will work without having flash loaded, but I also think it's possible to embed urls into flash itself, which may defeat this sometimes.

Instead of figuring out links by hand, install the addblock plus firefox extension. It will give the link under the blockable items list. Cut and paste and you're done.

(I haven't tried this in years and I'm currently in a third world web cafe situation so I can't test it now... But it used to work).

Can we have the interview in a Q & A format in text anywhere?
