Hi to all,
i'm proud to announce you the availability of the new MIB-Live, called
MIB-Live-prog 2009.0.
This ISO is a revised version of Mandriva One 2009.0 with many
applications and games included into it ; it and can be used as
DVD-Live, it can be installed on disk and, starting by now it can be
stored to a USB pen: we can finally bring with us our Mandriva 2009.0
everywhere (it works like the One edition)!. It is very useful, when you
want to install Mandriva 2009.0 on a NetBook (Asus eeePC, Acer One and
so on), where the CD/DVD device is usually missing. To put it on a USB
pen you have to type only the comand genusb in konsole, when the
MIB-Live DVD is running on the PC.
The MIB-Live has Gnome as the default DE, but it's possible to start kde
3.5.10 afterwards, and many and many programs, all up-to-date:
XBMC, elisa, vlc, amule, ardour, openarena, hedgewars, deluge,
openoffice, peazip, firefox, opera, licq, geany, geogebra, wine, mupen64
and much more...
All the repositories have already been configured, including MIB repo
i686 for 2009.0 release.
You can download it from this mirror (Iso prepared by Roberto65):
http://na.mirror.garr.it/mirrors/mib/iso/mib-live-prog-20...
We suggest to the people who want install it on the hard disk to update
the whole system, in particular video drivers (Ati/Nvidia) and kernel.
Since the MIB-Live-prog 2009.0 contains more than 50% of MIB packages,
then i686, we suggest to choose a MIB kernel to have a system in general
with more performance and faster.
The last kernel available is the 2.6.27.13.
