Unless you know something we don't, linux.com is not "demised". According to their announcement on 1 Jan, it appears they are merging with or being bought out by someone. (For "legal reasons" they can't detail things right now.) I imagine they will emerge with a different paradigm. As I recall sometime in 2008, the parent company changed its name to SoureForge and asserted its ownership over linux.com and other assets.
