I'd rather they target the LSB, personally.
Are
you serious are is it a joke? Let's take a look on simple program. Mmm...
uTorrent. What do we need for a usable Linux port?
1. A way to add program to the programs menu.
2. A way to add icon to the system tray.
3. A way to call system browser with given file selected.
4. A way to register program as handler for application/x-bittorrent
files.
5. A way to start process in the background when system starts.
And few other similar items. Nothing is standartized with LSB (first item
is poorly handled by few latest versions, but the rest is not handled at
all).
LSB is total disaster on desktop - not even worth trying.
