A (reasonably) browser-independent approach would be to auto-insert <wbr> pseudo-tags either before or after slashes, commas, ampersands, etc., in "words" that exceed, say, 30 or 40 characters. Most browsers treat those as optional break locations, but they're not otherwise displayed and don't insert whitespace into cut-and-pasted copies. Greg
