Parent article: Stable kernel 2.6.27.5

Jokes aside, the following story is actually true. It happened to me last week.

I noticed an intermittent grinding sound coming out of my car's steering. Although the mechanic said that it probably wasn't dangerous and they couldn't replicate the problem when I brought the car to service, I insisted the car stays with them. On the second day, they called me and told me they replicated the problem and that they will be replacing the whole steering mechanism. I picked my car up on the third day, so I was willing to be without the car for almost three days to get this fixed, because I didn't want to risk the lives of my kids over it.

I also have a broken air conditioning vent coming out in front of the back seat. I didn't even remember to mention it to the mechanics.

I know you'll now ask "how is this relevant to the kernel". Gee, I don't know...

All computing problems need a bad car analogy: a non-pointless car
anecdote is pretty similar. :)
